Shaolin - Hungar Kuen in Hanoi
The
sect of Shaolin - Hunggar kuen was spread into Hanoi thanks to
the cudit of the late martial arts instructor To Tu Quang. He
was born in 1910 in Long Chau - Guanxi-China.
When he was small, he was given
lessons of Shaolin directly by his father, Mr. To Cao Lan who
was a farmous instructor in Guangtong province. He passionatly
practised to acquire wonderful quintessences and techniques of
the sect.
When he was 18 years old, he won the
second prize in a yearly competition of martial arts in
Guangxi province and was named "The infant prodigy of
martial arts".
In 1954, he moved to live in Vietnam
and worked in Hanoi Young Printing factory, Unification
printing one later. In the same year, he took part in a
performance of martial arts in Indochina sporting event hall
(Thuy Ta now) where he wom a silver medal with "La Han
xuat dong" performance. Since then, he was always the
representative of Shaolin-Hungar Kuen of the Chinese in Hanoi
until his death in November 1998.
In 1965, as the representative of the
Chinese Association, he and his students performed martial
arts to Prime Minister
Pham Van Dong and doctor Tran Duy Hung.
In 1982, he took in founding and
developing Martial arts Association of Hanoi. He was elected a
member of Consultancy Board of Vietnam Martial Arts
Ferderation. Other sects all reconigred Ton Tu Quang the first
founder of Shaolin -Hungar Kuen in Hanoi.
On 22th July 1998, he was prized the
title " Superior instructor of martial arts" -
Leader of the sect Shaolin - Hungar Kuen.
During his life (of martial arts
activities), the name Great Su Tau was respected by many
generations of students. And many of them have became famous
in Martial arts Circle of Vietnam.

many folowing generations such as instructors of martial arts
Ta Duc Thanh, Ha Van Chien, Pham Van Chien, ect…. Among the
first students of Great Su Tau, only instructor Ha Co (or
known with the name Ha Tau) now lives in Hanoi and continues
passing his experience of martial arts to many generations of
present and future students.
